Adam Scheer has over two decades of experience collaborating with global leaders in the photonics and semiconductor industries to develop and market award winning security, consumer electronics, communications and industrial products. Scheer currently leads the product management, business development and strategy functions for the Optical Security and Performance Products group of Viavi Solutions (NASDAQ: VIAV). Additionally, Scheer serves as an advisor to SecureRF Corporation, a leading provider of quantum-resistant cryptographic tools for low-resource processors powering the Internet of Things (IoT). Before his current role at Viavi, Scheer was SecureRF’s President. Prior to joining SecureRF, Scheer was the Chief Operating Officer of MRV Communications (NASDAQ: MRVC) and supported the successful sale of that company to ADVA Optical Networking (FWB: ADV). Before joining MRV, Scheer held senior product management, strategy, business development and marketing roles at Viavi and its predecessor companies, which included JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) and ABNH (OTCBB: ABHH). Prior to Viavi, Scheer held executive corporate development and finance roles in the technology and chemical industries after starting his career in investment banking.
Scheer serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Intermolecular, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMI), a trusted partner for advanced materials innovation. He has been an active member of security industry standards bodies and associations including the International Hologram Manufacturers Association, which he served as Chairman, and the Document Security Alliance. He has also served as a officer of the Board of Governors of The Williams Club and was appointed by Governor Jon Corzine to serve as a member of the New Jersey - Israel Commission.
Scheer earned a BA in History, cum laude, from Williams College and an MBA in Management, with distinction, from New York University’s Stern School of Business, where he was named a Stern Scholar.
